Carbohydrate blockers

Carbohydrate blockers - products and active ingredients for optimal nutrient distribution

What are carbohydrate blockers?

Carbohydrate blockers are products that help you absorb glucose, sugar, or carbohydrates in such a way that they are processed more into muscle cells than converted into fat.

When we consume sugar or carbohydrates, they quickly enter the bloodstream and are broken down by the body. They then travel via the liver to the organs where they are needed. Too much sugar can lead to various diseases—including diabetes.

During muscular exertion or intense exercise, the carbohydrate stores in our muscle cells are depleted. These cells are generally more "absorbent" during this phase. However, the volume in the muscle cells is limited, and the uptake of new sugar molecules into the muscle cells does not occur immediately.

Dietary supplements like the ones we offer are mistakenly not supposed to "block carbohydrate absorption." We don't want to give you false hope in this regard. Our carb blockers can be very useful, especially if you're on a diet and want to reach your desired weight. Active ingredients like berberine are particularly effective for assisted bodybuilders, helping them avoid additional fat deposits and gain more pump, power, and energy while dieting.

Carbohydrate blockers are products or active ingredients designed to prevent carbohydrates from being absorbed by the body. The goal would be to allow you to "eat" as many carbohydrates as you want without gaining weight. This ideal is repeatedly used by the industry to mislead and sell products that fail to achieve the desired effect. What they refer to here are nutrient optimizers or nutrient partitioners, which trigger a mechanism in the body known as AMPK kinase. This AMP kinase, contrary to muscle protein biosynthesis, is responsible for how carbohydrates are stored, for example, in muscle cells. Most carbohydrate blockers contain berberine, which is responsible for this process. As a result, fewer carbohydrates are used for building fat cells, for example, and more are stored as energy sources in the muscles.

To achieve proper weight loss, calorie intake must be achieved through diet and a change in diet. Carbohydrate blockers are supposed to help with weight loss, but they are not a substitute for a weight loss plan. Losing weight too quickly can also cause a so-called yo-yo effect, which ruins all the lost pounds and returns you to your original excess weight.

What is meant by insulin sensitivity?

Insulin is very important for muscle building and maintenance. Insulin increases muscle sensitivity, boosting the capacity of the muscles and muscle cells. Insulin and other substances such as carbohydrates, amino acids, and creatine always interact. When insulin is present in the bloodstream, these substances can be utilized more effectively. This, in turn, ensures a better supply to the cells (muscle cells) and thus increased muscle growth and better regeneration. More insulin is released in the pancreas when, for example, carbohydrates are needed. Insulin boosters therefore help with muscle growth, the release of additional insulin, and, above all, the recovery of muscle cells. In our online shop, you will find numerous insulin boosters that trigger anabolic effects and guarantee a longer and more powerful training session.

For whom are carbohydrate blockers / nutrient optimizers useful?

Carbohydrate blockers, GDAs, or nutrient optimizers aren't suitable for every athlete. While they provide increased power, strength, and performance during training by increasing the capacity of carbohydrate stores in muscle cells, there's a small catch for natural strength athletes/bodybuilders. Berberine, for example, can inhibit muscle protein biosynthesis, which can "suppress" muscle growth for natural athletes. For professional athletes receiving medication, however, carbohydrate blockers or GDAs can be very useful, as muscle protein biosynthesis is maximized and isn't inhibited by AMP kinase.

What is berberine?

Berberine is a substance of plant origin and belongs to the group of alkaloids. Berberine is found in the roots, bark, and stems of barberry and other plants. Berberine is included in dietary supplements to improve insulin sensitivity, increase pumps and power, and aid weight loss because of its ability to transport carbohydrates, i.e., sugar and glucose, into muscle cells instead of converting them into fat.

Benefits of Berberine:

  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Regulation of cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood
  • Support for weight loss
  • Antidiabetic effect

Criticism of carbohydrate blockers – is it justified?

Carbohydrate blockers as dietary supplements are often criticized for not producing the promised effects. This is often the case with illegal or fake products, but not with carefully selected, well-researched products with ingredients that promise proven effectiveness. We offer the best and highest-quality products on the dietary supplement market.
